Heraldo Filipino has cemented its standing as one of the best campus publications in the country after six of its young journalists bagged top honors at the 22nd Campus Journalism Awards held at De La Salle University-Manila last January 22.

According to Ms. Malu Ongcol, director of the Student Publications office (SPO), the school is very proud of the achievements of the campus paper, which was also recognized in several categories during the 2010 LuzonwideHigher Education Press Conference. DLSU-D’s Carlo Angelo Hernandez placed first in the News Reporting English category while Brian Mey Tomas, Patrick Rowell Quintos and John Ceasar Javier placed second in the Feature Writing (English), Editorial Writing (English), and Photojournalism categories, respectively.

The school also shone in the News Reporting (Filipino) and Feature Writing (English) class as its representatives Buddy James Gempis, and Ikko Oquias took third place.

The Campus Journalism Awards is an annual competition among representatives of Lasallian schools throughout the country in various areas of journalism. This year's win upheld the school's winning streak from last year's competition, proving that the school’s crop of teen scribes are upholding the legacy of the publication which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.
