DLSU-D’s sustainable initiatives are continuing to earn global recognition with its recent certification from ECOSWITCH-GPIOS, a project of the European Union that certifies companies in Asia on sustainable practices.
In a memorandum from ERMaC Director Marlon Pareja to the DLSU-D community, he reported that the University received its certification from the group last October 16 after undergoing a rigorous training and verification process.
DLSU-D also received a Special Award on Waste Minimization for having the greatest savings and environmental impact on reducing waste, making the University the first academic institution in the country to be honored with the award.
“We hope that these awards, among others, will continue to inspire us and challenge us to integrate more sustainable initiatives in our curriculum, operations, missions, and extensions and attain a University where God’s presence is truly lived and shared,” Pareja said.
It can be recalled that the University recently launched its Sustainable DLSU-D site which outlines the University’s award-winning initiatives and practices which have been used as a benchmark for institutions throughout the country.
