In celebration of the Marian months of September and October starting from September 8, the feast day of the Blessed Mother continuing through the month of the Holy Rosary in October, DLSU-D will hold the annual Lakbay Maria activity participated in by the entire Lasallian community.
With the theme “With Mary, we run in haste to bring our Eucharistic Lord to the Poor,” this year’s Lakbay Maria will not only entail the ‘visitation’ of the Blessed Mother’s image to the different units, offices, colleges and departments in the University, but will also involve an outreach program that will respond to the call of those in need.
Units and offices are enjoined to sponsor school bags, school supplies and hygiene kits for the 150 grade school children, ages 5-10 coming from the poorest families in the community in Lantic, Carmona Cavite for the outreach which will take place on October 23, 2015.
The outreach will be conducted in coordination with the Nuestra Senora del Santo Rosario Parish through its parish priest Rev. Orlando Jimenez.
“May this year’s Lakbay Maria strengthen the DLSU-D community so as to become one in heart and in worship, following the footsteps of our Blessed Mother, so that the experience of God will be lived and shared always by the different sectors of the community,” Campus Ministry Office Director Dr. Jose Arvin Gacelo said in his letter to the community.
