DLSU-D alum is Outstanding Principal of the Year in Texas district

Dr. Edgar B. Tibayan, who completed his Masters and Doctor of Education in De La Salle University-Dasmariñas in 2002, has been adjudged Outstanding Principal of the Year, representing the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 18 in the competition for Texas Principal of the Year.
TASSP recognizes outstanding principals and assistant principals from the twenty region Education Service Centers in the state. School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions. Nominations are based on exemplary performance and outstanding leadership, according to a report by Big Bend Now.
Tibayan has served as the principal of the Lucy Rede Franco Middle School in Presidio since 2011. He is an alumni of Cavite State University in the Philippines, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture with a major in education and a minor in economics. When he completed his post graduate studies in DLSU-D, he received the “Highest Distinction Award.”
Prior to his Outstanding Principal award in the region, he was also honored as District Teacher of the Year at Ysleta ISD in El Paso and the “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and Educators” award in 2006.
