The DLSU-D Junior Marketing Association and its tie-up councils and recognized organizations will launch “Get Pinked 2016: DLSU-D Walk of Awareness on Breast Cancer” together with Avon Philippines on October 14, 2016 from 3 pm to 7 pm at University Grandstand, De La Salle University – Dasmariñas.

Get Pinked is a walk for a cause that aims to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness and education in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is held in October each year. Breast cancer is a disease that affects 1.2 million women and claims the lives of 500,000 each year. Every year, the number of breast cancer patients in the world continues to increase.

Join us as we walk through the campus and the oval as we help spread the message and become a part of the fight against breast cancer. Tickets will be available for P150, and will include registration, race bib, and other freebies. Funds that will be collected through this activity will be given to the Breast Cancer Foundation of De La Salle University Medical Center.

Plus, there will be an Avon 130 million steps Pedometer app available for download on iOS and Android, and we encourage every student to download it as this will track their steps. Under the partnership with Avon, if DLSU-D generates 3 million steps through this app, they will conduct free breast cancer checkups. Here’s how to use the app:

Step 1: Download the Avon 130 Million Steps Pedometer Application available in Appstore and Google Play.
Step 2: Sign in by typing your basic information.
Step 3: Type in your daily step goal and you're ready to go! (5,000/day is our standard daily step goal)
Step 4: Share your daily steps through Facebook & Twitter with a hashtag #DLSUD3MillionSteps.

Even if you're offline, the app can still track your steps. Just make sure to keep your gadget close to your body. Every time you go online, your steps are automatically added to the Avon 130 Million Steps challenge by just reopening the app so the app can update..

Please make sure to share your everyday steps before 12 midnight because it resets and returns to zero step. Don't forget to use the hashtag #DLSUD3MillionSteps because that is how AVON monitors DLSU-D's steps if it is reaching 3M steps.

Tickets are available at the CBAA lobby, at the JFH Kubo, and through DLSU-D JMA. There are also tickets available through JMA's tie-up councils and recognized organizations.

Let us walk hand in hand. Together, we can win this!
