The Information and Communications Technology Center, in partnership with Microsoft Philippines, recently concluded ICT Week 2017 with the theme: “Empowerment through IT Innovation.” The event was held in time with the University’s celebration of its annual Lasallian Festival.
For the duration of the event held from March 1-3, 2017, representatives from Microsoft conducted a series of enablement trainings for members of the administration, faculty, students and staff. The Cultivation training for students discussed how they can use the Office 365 Pro Plus to their advantage in making their school life so much easier.
The Classroom training on Office 365 Pro Plus and Sharepoint Online on the other hand, helped deans, department chairs and office heads understand the benefits of the tools for further promoting learning and online interaction among the students. The Organization training for office staff discussed Sharepoint Workflow which can help them accomplish their tasks more quickly and efficiently.
The trainings were part of the ICTC’s partnership with Microsoft Philippines’ Champion Schools Program in which the company conducts trainings to arm members of the academe with apps and programs to make learning more accessible, entertaining and impactful.
“We’re happy to have partnered with Microsoft on this project. The participants were really happy with what they’ve learned and hopefully, they can apply these to their work and studies,” ICTC Director Ma. Kristina Miciano said. “We are looking forward to more trainings like this for other members of the Lasallian community.”
A total of 140 students, 13 admins and 16 members of the staff attended the three-day trainings.
