Certificate Programs

  1. CERTIFICATE IN TEACHING RELIGIOUS AND VALUES EDUCATION
    • THE RATIONALE OF THE PROGRAM
    • The Certificate in teaching Religious and Values Education for BSE students (CTRVEd) is the response of DLSU-Dasmariñas to a call and to a need. First, the program responds to the call of Christ to become disciples and evangelizers as strongly written in many church teachings and documents. This is also to respond to one of the fourteen point agenda of the Brother President, that through this program, we may truly experience and share the presence of God amongst the De La Salle University-Dasmarinas community. Second, the program responds to the need of the Philippine society for well- formed individuals, where each student strives to become an agent of transformation of our society. It also seeks a deeper valuing and appreciation of conduct in life patterned after the gospel values.

The Certificate in teaching Religious and Values Education for BSE students (CTRVEd) is an effort to concretize the De La Salle vision of “forming Christian achievers for God and country” (DLSU-D faculty handbook) in the field of Education particularly in the areas of Religious and Values Education. • RATIONALE
    • This program, Certificate in Teaching Religious Education, is a concrete-active response to various Church and institutional needs as expressed in documents, researches, and attended assemblies.

Br. Augustine Boquer echoed the Lasallian Ministry Action Plan in his 13th point agenda for De La Salle University –Dasmarinas by encouraging “Support for the Local Church,” which means, “taking a more active role as individuals, as institutions, and as a whole district in the evangelical thrust and programs of the local Church ” (2000, p.104).This he further reiterates in small group assemblies by challenging the DLSU-D faculty to take the lead to “offer educational programs that will respond to the needs of nearby communities”. The same intent is clearly stipulated in the recently published Lasallian Guiding Principles (2010). The recently concluded International Lasallian University Leadership proposes once again that we be “agents of transformation both within and beyond our respective institutions and develop visionary character among all members of the community” (June 5-18, 2011, Rome).
